Leidos, a spinoff from SAIC, has signed a multi-year agreement with D.C. United to serve as the team’s presenting partner and official sponsor.
Under the agreement, the logo of the security, health and engineering solutions company will be displayed in the team’s jerseys, D.C. United announced Monday.
Leidos and D.C. United will also partner for events, such as those for the Armed Forces Week, and other programs.
Leidos said the partnership will allow the company to reach a “diverse and growing fan base” for better brand recognition.
“Soccer is a growing, global sport and we are a growing company with our eyes on the future,†said John Jumper, Leidos chief executive officer and board chairman. “This sponsorship will help enable us to get exposure not only locally, but throughout the country and internationally.â€
The team’s jerseys with the new Leidos logos will start to go on sale at the RFK Stadium and online on March 8.
