The Government Employees Health Association and DPS Health have moved to extend their online weight management program partnership through 2014.
GEHA and DPS Health aim to have an additional 5,000 health plan members through the program’s continuation, DPS Health said Thursday.
Kathy Ross, director of clinical quality for GEHA, said VLM is intended to help address members’ wellness and disease management demands through email interactions and coaching programs.
Neal Kaufman, DPS Health co-founder and chief medical officer, added that the program also aims to take into account the moderate risk group besides the highest risk/highest cost and lowest risk/lowest cost segments.
The Virtual Lifestyle Management program started in 2009 and continued into 2013 with the goal of reaching 5,000 health plan enrollees.
