FireEye_logo_EMFireEye has moved to update its network security and email protection technologies through a new release of its central management offering for customers.

FireEye OS 7.1 is scheduled for rollout by the end of February and works to scan links within emails and detect malicious attachments and files through the FireEye EX platform, which uses threat intelligence, FireEye said Thursday.

The new version of FireEye OS is developed for users to manage appliances, automate network alerts and responses through web application programming interfaces, analyze IPv6 network traffic and filter emails for malware.

Manish Gupta, senior vice president of products at FireEye, said the company intends for the updated offering to build up its email security and threat protection platforms in order to help clients scale their deployments.

The FireEye CM system is also built to correlate threat intelligence gathered from virtual machines and to accept data for forensics analysis from users.

FireEye intends for users to help control network access, log audits, ensure complex passwords and monitor appliance statuses.
