FireEye and OpenDNSÂ will integrate their security service and malware protection tools into a combined offering aimed at helping customers protect cloud users and devices against malicious activity and advanced persistent threats.
OpenDNS’ Umbrella security service is built for threat discovery and predictive technology, while FireEye’s Web Malware Protection System is intended to analyze file behaviors, both companies said Wednesday.
Didi Dayton, vice president of worldwide strategic alliances at FireEye, said the company sought to extend its threat protection to the cloud and help enforce security policies at a central level on devices.
FireEye will work to detect both known and previously unknown threats and Umbrella will enforce security policies with the goal of avoiding intrusion and leakage.
The integrated product will be demonstrated at the Las Vegas FireEye 2014 Momentum Partner Conference this week.
