Exelis has updated its environmental intelligence platform to incorporate a redesigned analytics and camera interface technology for real-time weather data collection.
Helios features a built-in mapping system and works as a radar system for professionals to monitor changes in rainfall patterns and surface moisture, Exelis said Monday.
Eric Webster, vice president of geospatial systems at Exelis, said the offering is intended to give users a detailed picture of climate-related road conditions.
The company refreshed Helios’ components to manage large volumes of environmental datasets and integrate with weather tracking systems used by commercial and government organizations.
Helios 1.3 uses a ground-based network of cameras located in Oklahoma and Washington for national weather coverage, Exelis says.
