EMC Corp. has updated a storage management offering that is intended to help customers gain insights into data stored in their systems, InfoStor reported Friday.
Pedro Hernandez writes the new version of the ViPR platform is built to work with the Hadoop Distributed File System and comply with corporate rules on data access, retention and storage.
Chris Ratcliffe, vice president of marketing for EMC’s advanced software division, said EMC’s analytics technology is designed to help clients address challenges to mining corporate data, according to the report.
ViPR 1.1 is intended as compatible with EMC’s Symmetrix Remote Data Facility replication system, InfoStor reports.
Hernandez writes EMC also updated the Storage Resource Management Suite offering to integrate with the new ViPR version.
