IBM has partnered with India-based real estate company DLF to analyze the shopping behavior of customers at DLF’s malls through an IBM mobile phone application, Business Standard reported Monday.
The app will be designed to gather data from shoppers’ movements inside the DLF Promenade mall in New Delhi City and convert that information into insights for retailers to engage customers, according to the report.
“Connecting shoppers with contextual information will not only increase sales but also provide a higher level of customer satisfaction,” said Ramesh Gopinath, director of IBM Research in India, according to the report.
DLF intends for the app to adjust services based on the time that consumers spend shopping and their store preferences, the report says.
The Wi-Fi-dependent tool will work to detect customer location and the store proximity of consumers, Business Standard reports.
