Deloitte and software firm XTec have been awarded contract extensions for an undisclosed amount to continue providing biometric and credentialing tools to the Department of Homeland Security, Nextgov reported Wednesday.
Aliya Sternstein writes the two companies were given another 12 months to help oversee the agency’s smart ID card program.
The Deloitte task order includes computers, document scanners, fingerprint scanners, card readers and smart card printers, according to the report.
XTec’s identification information exchange software is used by more than 245,000 workers, Nextgov reports.
The two contracts were originally awarded to Deloitte in 2011 and to XTec in 2009.
