Cisco’s CCNA Security certification has been approved as a required career certification for Defense Department employees with job roles in information assurance under the DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program.
The program’s advisory council certification committee recommended CCNA Security for DoD Information Assurance Technician Levels I and II, Cisco said Tuesday.
Jeanne Beliveau-Dunn, vice president and general manager of Learning@Cisco, certifications like CCNA Security are designed to be connected with future cybersecurity job roles and education program standards.
CCNA Security was verified under the DoD 8570 directive on Jan. 15.
