Cisco has launched the Evolved Services Platform and two virtual service modules in an effort to support the virtualization strategies of service providers for the Internet of Everything.
The company intends for the ESP to help address concerns regarding virtualization on network infrastructure and operations, Cisco said Tuesday.
“Service providers globally view virtualization not just to reduce costs but to have it work with their infrastructure to provide even greater value by means of increased agility and elasticity,†said Pankaj Patel, Cisco executive vice president and chief development officer.
Cisco also unveiled the Videoscape Cloud DVR Solution for video recording using cloud for capture and storage and Virtualized Mobile Internet for virtualized mobile services.
The company said the tools can be purchased as individual virtual functions on separate modules, as a network or orchestrated functions, as orchestrated virtual functions with hardware, or as-a-service on a third-party cloud.
Service providers that will deploy the products include China Mobile, Deutsche Telekom Technik, SunGard Availability Services and Telecom Italia.
