API Technologies Corp. has obtained a validation for a cryptographic module from the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
The NIST issued the Federal Information Processing Standard Publication 140-2 to certify the API’s common cryptographic module as complying with information security regulations, API said Friday.
Henry Gold, a general manager at API, said the module is developed to carry out cryptographic functions through algorithms such as the Advanced Encryption Standard.
API built the cryptographic module for integration into the company’s ION Networks access technologies and Netgard authentication tool for printers, scanners and copiers.
