Accenture has donated $1.5 million to Goodwill Industries International to help fund a new initiative meant to train people to start businesses or to get jobs.
The GoodProspects for Credentials to Careers program aims to provide services for career-readiness including help with job searches, technology access, assistance with resume refinement and other online or on-the-ground training, the companies said Friday.
Michael Scimo, managing director of human capital and diversity for North America at Accenture, said having essential skills can help individuals and communities drive economic gain.
The initiative intends to tap 40 Goodwill agencies to help connect more than 15,000 job seekers with the required credentials and support.
Goodwill plans to hold four regional summits for industry and education, connect program participants with Accenture employees for skill building and mentoring and create partnerships for evaluating credentials.
