AtHoc Inc. has provided a mass notification system to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for hospital personnel to communicate and safeguard patients in the event of an emergency.
The Bethesda, Md.-based military hospital implemented AtHoc’s Interactive Warning System, which works to notify 12,000 on-premise medical staff in the event of a critical situation, AtHoc said Tuesday.
Athoc IWS is built with an Internet Protocol architecture and is built to deliver alert messages through multiple communication channels.
“We are proud and honored to provide a modern network-based alerting system that supports those who serve our elected leaders and, the true patriots, our wounded warriors,” said Dave Brown, vice president of AtHoc’s defense and intelligence group.
The IWS technology is designed to send warnings across an enterprise via radios, desktop computers, sirens, texts, digital signs and mobile devices.
AtHoc will showcase the platform at the HIMSS annual conference and exhibition to be held in Orlando, Fla. from Feb. 23 through 27.
