Hewlett Packard‘s intrusion prevention systems have been selected by Switzerland’s national railway company to defend its infrastructure against security threats.
Swiss Federal Railways adopted HP’s TippingPoint 7500NX and Security Management System XL platforms as part of the operator’s routing network modernization effort, HP said Tuesday.
“Even with strong security measures already in place, the highly sensitive nature of the railway’s network, along with the escalation of cyberthreats, presented a need for greater visibility and proactive defense,†said Erwin Jud, senior security engineer at Swiss Federal Railways.
The enterprise-grade HP appliances are designed to help users identify threats and secure applications, data and networking systems.
