Rockwell Collins has launched a grant program to identify proposals for the company’s traditional conservation and restoration communities program, with awards ranging from $500 to $2,500.
The 10-year-old Green Communities program is intended to help nonprofit groups find ways to improve the environmental conditions of a community where the company operates, Rockwell Collins announced Tuesday.
“Green Communities has funded grassroots projects in the communities where our employees live and work since 2004 with a total of 398 grants awarded during that time,†said Jenny Becker, Rockwell Collins community relations manager.
“Grant recipients, working with our employees, have built strong bonds between our company and their communities through the years.â€
Criteria for winning projects will include tangible environmental benefits, sustainability, company participation, completion of the project within the calendar year and agreement to participate in publicizing the grant.
Applications will be accepted through Feb. 14 and grant winners will be announced on or before April 22, Earth Day.
