cloudQTS has rolled out an infrastructure-as-a-service offering intended to help U.S. government customers manage virtual data center workloads in the cloud.

The QTS Federal Cloud suite is comprised of storage, networking and security services and designed to be compatible with Cisco, EMC and VMware computing environments, QTS said Wednesday.

“QTS understands the IT needs and requirements of government agencies and our Federal Cloud solution augments the company’s strategic focus on the public sector,” said Jim Reinhart, QTS chief operating officer for development and operations.

The company aims for agencies to meet requirements under the Federal Data Center Consolidation Initiative, IT Shared Services and Cloud First programs by using the IaaS platform.

QTS has applied for a FedRAMP certification and intends to offer the cloud service from the company’s data centers in Atlanta and Richmond, Va.
