NCR Corp. is providing the Shenzen Baoan International Airport with 35 self-service airport check-in kiosks with support services for the T3 terminal which opened in 2013.
NCR’s TouchPort kiosks will be integrated with the airport’s Common Use Self-Service platform and applications, NCR announced Friday.
Using the kiosks, airport passengers will be able to process their check-in, check flight information, scan boarding passes and apply loyalty membership electronically, allowing for up to 40% in paper cost savings.
NCR received the order through TravelSky Technology Ltd., one of the main technology providers for the air travel industry in China. TravelSky also provides its passenger departure information system to the airport.
“Our self-service check-in solution offers Shenzhen Baoan International passengers the opportunity to by-pass traditional check-in and reduce the time they might spend in line. It’s our first opportunity to demonstrate how NCR technology solutions can enhance the travel experience at Shenzhen Baoan and we look forward to exceeding their expectations,” said Pedro Carrasco, NCR Travel vice president of sales in EMEA/APAC.
The TouchPort technology is currently used in China’s China Southern airlines, China Eastern Airlines and Air China.
NCR also provides its check-in solutions to three of the top five airlines in the world.
