A bridge built by Louis Berger and Ammann & Whitney has been selected to receive an award for projects outside the state of New York from the American Council of Engineering Companies New York.
The companies received a Diamond Award in the structural systems category of the ACEC, Louis Berger announced Thursday.
Louis Berger and Ammann & Whitney won an international competition to design the 216-foot bridge that opened in March 2013.
Engineering Excellence Award winners are judged based on originality, innovation, complexity, social and economic considerations, public and engineering value and exceeding client needs, the companies said.
