Lockheed Martin has won a $31.1 million contract from the U.S. Air Force for the production of laser guided bomb kits.
The paveway II plus laser guided bomb kits use an enhanced laser guidance system and an airfoil kit built to provide lift and stability to the missiles.
“The contract represents the seventh U.S. Air Force paveway II Plus award and extends production at our Archbald, Pa., facility through the end of 2014,” said Joe Serra, precision guided systems manager at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control.
Lockheed has delivered  130,000 training rounds, more than 70,000 paveway kits and 7,000 dual mode systems to U.S. defense and international customers.
