Leidos has donated $100,000 to The Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health to assist in the upkeep of the inn’s park and playground.
The company also gave 25 gift cards to families staying at the inn during the December holiday season, Leidos announced Monday.
Since 2011, Leidos and its employees has donated nearly $500,000 to The Children’s Inn.
“Our scientists and technical personnel work side-by-side with researchers and program staff at the National Institutes of Health to help discover the causes of and treatments for diseases, such as cancer and AIDS,” said Steve Comber, Leidos health president.
“Our company wants to demonstrate its support financially and our employees want to volunteer and show their appreciation for the amazing work that NIH does every single day.”
Each year, the Inn works to provide a residential “place like home” to more than 1,500 seriously ill children and their families.
