AECOMÂ has won a $116-million project to provide consultancy and construction management services for a key highway in Hong Kong that will shorten travel time across the city by 18 minutes.
The contract includes designing the Tseung Kwan O-Lam Tin Tunnel, an infrastructure that will provide a 2.6-mile express link, for $13 million, AECOMÂ said Wednesday.
Another $103 million was awarded for AECOM to oversee the building of the two-lane highway, part of Route 6 that will connect TKO in the east to Kai Tak in the west.
“Since 2009, we have been involved in the planning of this project, providing preliminary design and other services,†said John Dionisio, AECOM chairman and CEO.
“We are very proud to be able to contribute to the project’s next phase,†he added.
