Ellyn Shook has been promoted to chief human resources officer at Accenture and will succeed Jill Smart, who is set to retire in the summer.
Shook, currently senior managing director of the HR division, will start in her new position on March 31 and will also serve on the firm’s global management committee, Accenture said Tuesday.
She has spent 25 years with Accenture and led global HR strategies, including programs for career and performance management, employee engagement and retention.
Pierre Nanterme, chairman and CEO of Accenture, said Shook was a key figure in designing and deploying a new executive compensation strategy and in many of the company’s other major transitions.
“(Shook) has distinguished herself in a number of leadership positions within human resources over her 25-year career,†Nanterme said.
