Lexmark subsidiary Perceptive Software has licensed a technology used to search documents containing unstructured data to Catalyst, a cloud-based electronic discovery software provider.
Catalyst seeks to integrate the Perceptive Document Filters platform with the Catalyst Insight tool for organizing and capturing files in any format, language or program, Lexmark said Dec. 17.
“Our customers load millions of documents onto our platform so that they can make critical business decisions based on the electronically stored information within them,” said Bruce Kiefer, vice president of platform at Catalyst.
Brian Anderson, chief technology officer of Perceptive Software, said the Catalyst platform is built to address businesses’ e-discovery and compliance problems.
The product integration aims to help customers extract metadata and texts as well as create digital versions of business files, Lexmark says.
