KPMG LLP‘s Minneapolis office has been selected for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
The office was renovated in 2012 in an effort to achieve environmental efficiency and achieve the LEED Gold-CI status, KPMG said Wednesday.
“LEED offices continue to help the firm drive down its overall footprint with significant reductions in both water and energy realized with these environmentally-friendly office designs,” said George Kehl, KPMG Minneapolis office managing partner.
Ninety-eight of the new and used equipment and appliances in KPMG’s new office is ENERGY STAR rated and water fixtures use 35 percent less water than standard fixtures, the firm says.
