General-Dynamics-C4-SystemsGeneral Dynamics business unit will continue working to build up the U.S. Army“™s tactical network under a potential $475 million contract.

General Dynamics C4 Systems will update technologies for the Warfighter Information Network““Tactical Increment 2 program under the Increment 3 program’s initial task order worth $96 million, General Dynamics said Monday.

Chris Marzilli, president of General Dynamics C4 Systems, said the program aims to reduce the number of satellites used through WIN-T 3 as communications and networking technology requirements grow.

The Army plans to integrate the Increment 3 technology into Increment 2, aiming for soldiers to communicate and operate in remote locations through an unmanned aerial vehicle.

A combined WIN-T Increment 2 and Increment 3 network includes the AN/PRC-154A Rifleman and AN/PRC-155 Manpack radios, as well as the Nett Warrior and mission command technologies.
