SiemensLogoA business unit of Siemens has donated an in-kind software grant worth $40 million to a technical school in Massachusetts to provide students with software training for advanced technology jobs.

Siemens PLM Software donated the software to McCann Technical School to help students develop products in the automotive, aerospace, shipbuilding, machinery and high-tech electronics industry, the school announced Monday.

Donated software includes NX for computer-aided design, manufacturing and engineering; and Solid Edge software, a two-dimensional and three-dimensional CAD system hybrid.

“Siemens PLM Software is dedicated to equipping today“™s students with the knowledge and skills necessary to serve in the next generation of engineers. McCann Technical School serves a key role in filling the STEM job skills gap and producing high qualified future employees,“ said Bill Boswell, Siemens PLM Software senior director of partner strategy.

The donation is part of Siemens PLM Software“™s academic program that provides PLM software technology to over a million students annually.
