James Hetherington, an Air Force veteran and former military advisor to the ambassador of Saudi Arabia, has been appointed director of Middle East operations at Salient Federal Solutions.
In his new role, Hetherington will lead the Fairfax,Va.-based company“™s Saudi business office and manage Salient“™s current international training organization that supports U.S. Air Force foreign military sales, according to a company statement released Oct. 3.
The 26-year Air Force veteran most recently served as division chief of the international airmen division for the Secretary of the Air Force.
Bill Parker, Salient COO, said Hetherington has relationships with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Royal Saudi Air Force, Royal Saudi Land Force and Saudi Arabian National Guard.
According to the company statement, while serving as military advisor to the Saudi ambassador, Hetherington led development of new programs which guided $30B in foreign military sales .
