A Parsons Corp. joint venture has won a contract which could be worth more than $1 billion to carry out the first leg of a high-speed rail system project in the state of California.
The California High-Speed Rail Authority awarded Tutor Perini, Zachry and Parsons a design-build package for a rail line that would stretch 29 miles from Madera to Fresno, Parsons said Thursday.
“We are delighted to confirm signature of this contract and we look forward to proceeding with full execution of this significant rail and infrastructure project,“ said Todd Wager, Parsons group president.
State officials aim for the project to boost economic development, preserve agricultural lands and keep the environment clean, according to the company.
