Harris Corp. will take in $61 million to manufacture tactical radios for the country of Poland as the country seeks to upgrade communication tools and equipment used by its defense forces.
The Polish national defense ministry intends to use the Falcon III AN/PRC-117G and AN/PRC-152A radios for maintaining connections among soldiers during field operations, Harris said Monday.
Harris’ RF communications business built the devices to feature a wideband channel for transmitting and exchanging satellite-based data.
Brendan O“™Connell, president of international business for the RF communications business, said Poland intends to use the radios to coordinate with U.S. and NATO forces.
Fifteen countries use an estimated 40,000 AN/PRC-117G and AN/PRC-152A radios.
