EMC Corp. has acquired Aveksa, an identity and access management provider, for an undisclosed amount in a move aimed to expand EMC’s security division.
Aveksa will join EMC’s RSA security division, EMC said Monday.
Privately held Aveksa’s identity and access governance and provisioning solutions will seek to provide RSA customers with secure and appropriate enterprise cloud applications access.
The partnership will also aim to convert the user identity lifecycle into a more intuitive, smarter solution.
Art Coviello, EMC RSA executive chairman and executive vice president, said the acquisition will further allow the company to deal with current IAM issues.
“Without the deep intelligence able to provide insight into what users should and should not have access to, traditional tools that simply automate IAM leave organizations exposed to the risk of excessive privilege, data breaches and regulatory noncompliance,” Coviello added.
