Elbit Systems of America will work with Opgal to produce devices designed to have thermal imaging features for aviation pilots to have view of surroundings during aerial operations.
The vision systems are intended to withstand extreme weather conditions and offer visibility for preventive measures in aircraft landing and approach, Opgal said Wednesday.
The contract, which will involve hundreds of EVS units, aim to extend the more than 15-year collaboration of Opgal and Elbit Systems in the development of solutions for the aeronautics sector.
“We are proud to continue partnering with Elbit Systems of America,” said Amit Mattatia, Opgal president and CEO.
Elbit’s vision systems hold certifications from the Federal Aviation Administration and European Aviation Safety Agency.
