Cisco Closes $107M Buy of IT Energy Management Provider JouleX

Cisco has closed its purchase of information technology and energy management provider JouleX for nearly $107 million in cash and incentives for stock retention.

The acquisition combines JouleX’s portfolio and Cisco“™s EnergyWise offering and seeks to help customers to track and manage energy consumption of their enterprises, Cisco said Monday.

JouleX“™s workforce will join Cisco“™s connected energy solutions team under the Industry Solutions Group and will report to David Goddard, vice president and general manager .

JouleX’s energy management offering works to monitor, analyze and manage energy usage of network-attached devices and systems.
