CloudOracle has partnered with Microsoft for an undisclosed value to help customers run software on Windows platforms, aiming to extend cloud computing services for clients.

The partnership intends to help Oracle customers deploy Java, Oracle Database and Oracle WebLogic Server in Windows Server Hyper-V and in Windows Azure with support services, Microsoft said Monday.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said the hybrid cloud solutions seek to help customers run Oracle applications, middleware and databases in private and public clouds.

Oracle will offer Linux to Windows Azure customers and Microsoft intends to provide its Windows Azure users with Java, Oracle Database and Oracle WebLogic Server.

“At Oracle, we are committed to providing greater choice and flexibility to customers by providing multiple deployment options for our software, including on-premises, as well as public, private, and hybrid clouds,“ said Mark Hurd, Oracle president.
