SoftwareAGlogoSoftware AG has acquired cloud applications platform vendor LongJump for an undisclosed sum in a bid to boost its end-user, self-service application development and platform-as-a-service portfolios.

The Germany-based technology firm will continue to develop LongJump“™s products for cloud-based development and case management software applications, Software AG said Thursday.

Wolfram Jost, Software AG chief technology officer, said the company aims for the acquisition to help it develop applications for customers to manage small and medium enterprise projects.

LongJump intends to complement Software AG’s ARIS, Terracotta and webMethods product suites and help end users deploy applications, Software AG says.

Software AG also intends for LongJump to help customers use templates that eliminate coding when developing process-based applications and build security and authentication protocols for mobile devices.

Pankaj Malviya, LongJump CEO and founder, said the Santa Clara, Calif.-based company intends to leverage Software AG’s enterprise connectivity and business process experience to provide clients tools for evolving business requirements.
