Serco‘s North American subsidiary and Plenary Group Pty Ltd. have formed a consortium to help a Canadian province give knowledge and road tests to prospective drivers.
The consortium was selected as the preferred bidder for the project and it plans to finalize a 10-year contract in the coming months with Infrastructure Ontario, Serco said Monday.
“We are proud to be selected as preferred bidder to support MTO, and will work with them to ensure the completion of this procurement process,” said Ed Casey, chairman and CEO for Serco Inc., the British services contractor’s North America subsidiary.
Serco provides more than 575,000 knowledge tests and 675,000 roads tests per year at 95 test centers in Ontario and has provided similar services to the nation’s transportation ministry since 2003.
Brian Budden, a Plenary Group senior vice president, said the consortium will also work with Ontario’s transportation ministry along with Infrastructure Ontario on the project.
