Northrop Grumman has selected seven companies as its top suppliers for 2012 and honored 63 companies total at its supplier awards ceremony held Thursday in Los Angeles.
The company honored 28 small businesses, including five small disadvantaged owned businesses holding that distinction under U.S. Small Business Administration regulations, Northrop said Friday.
“Northrop Grumman’s drive to provide quality products extends to our suppliers, which makes them indispensable teammates,” said Art Lofton, sector vice president of global quality in Northrop’s aerospace systems sector.
Supplier of the Year program awards go to companies in the special recognition, non-production, research and development, subcontracts, small business, production operations and procurement.
BAE Systems won in the special recognition category, Pattersonlabs in non-production, Pacific Design Technologies in research and development, Eaton Corp.’s aerospace group in subcontracts, Swift Engineering in small business, Hansen’s Welding in production operations and Playa Tool & Marine in procurement.
Northrop also gave out 56 Platinum Source Preferred awards to businesses for their performance in 2012.
