In an interview with the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, representatives of Washington area technology firm Lore Systems provided some insight into the company’s beginnings and made some bold predictions about where it is headed over the next five-to-ten years.
Started in 1996 by former Microsoft employees and focused on serving small-to-medium-sized businesses and government customers, “there are no particular verticals that we target, as all businesses have technology and communications needs with which we can help,” the company told the authority.
The company is applying its adaptability to different industries, organizations and verticals on a geographic scale and currently operates delivery centers in Virginia, California and the country of Belgium.
And, the way that Lore’s leadership tells it, that is just the beginning of its international expansion plans.
Already with more than 300 clients, Lore is looking to Asia and Europe to continue the growth its driven over close to 20 years in business.
“Across the U.S. and in Asia and Europe, Lore anticpeates opening up to 50 offices in the next 5-10 years,” the company told the authority.
While not operating a robust global scale yet, the company is using its presence on the West Coast of the U.S. to reach customers well beyond the Capitol region.
The company set up and operated a cloud-computed based web portal for citizens of Oregon to receive information about the H1N1 virus in 2010, reporting that it “had the entire project running within its data center in 24 hours.”
