
James Breyer, a member of Dell‘s board of directors since April 2009, does not plan to pursue reelection at Dell’s next annual meeting of stockholders in July.
Breyer, chairman of the board’s finance committee will continue to serve as a director until that meeting, the company announced Monday.
Bloomberg reports Breyer will also step down from the boards of directors at Facebook and Walmart.
According to Dell, he has invested in more than 30 consumer Internet, media and technology companies that have completed public offerings or mergers.
He currently serves as a partner at Accel Partners and has held positions at McKinsey & Company, Apple and Hewlett-Packard.
“Dell and its stockholders have benefitted greatly from the leadership and perspective Jim has provided during his tenure on the Dell board,“ said Michael Dell, chairman and CEO.
“We“™re grateful for his guidance and we wish him well in all his future endeavors,“ Dell said.
Dell says he also serves on the Harvard Business School’s board of the associates and the boards of the Stanford Technology Ventures Program, Pacific Community Ventures and Technet.
