Hewlett-Packard has expanded its intrusion prevention systems portfolio to include new software designed to locate and identify security threats and reduce attacks without slowing network traffic.
Each of the three new appliances in the HP TippingPoint NX Series are intended to have customizable interfaces and bypass options, the company said Wednesday.
The HP S7500NX, HP S6200NX and HP S2600NX NGIPS appliances cover data transfer speeds of 20 gigabits per second in a two-rack-unit configuration and aims to address throughput levels, data center footprint and power consumption issues.
“The boom in cloud and mobile applications has put the pressure on network security operations to provide the highest-speed networks while maintaining security efficacy,“ said Rob Greer, vice president and general manager for enterprise security products in the TippingPoint series.
HP developed the TippingPoint family under its TippingPoint DVLabs and Zero Day Initiative platforms.
