TeleCommunication Systems Inc. has won $16.1 million in incremental funding to help the U.S. Marine Corps manage its wireless communications system while in theater.
The Annapolis, Md.-based mobile technology provider won the order through the Army’s $5 billion World-Wide Satellite Systems contract vehicle, TCS said Friday.
TCS will provide the Marine Corps a deployed engineering services team to help run the branch’s Wireless Pint to Point Link systems, which are designed to transmit voice, video and data communications using satellites.
WPPL is part of TCS’ Totalcom portfolio.
The Army’s project manager for the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical commercial satellite terminal program manages the WWSS vehicle.
