General Dynamics’ Fidelis Cybersecurity Solutions subsidiary has opened a new cybersecurity forensics, aiming to meet increasing demand from private companies for for cybersecurity services, the Batlimore Business Journal reports.

Sarah Gantz writes the Columbia, Md.-based lab started operating last month and assesses each client“™s network security, then designs an infrastructure to handle security issues.

The lab has 15 forensic examiners who work with commercial network defense and forensics services team members from other labs in the U.S. on security issues.

Jim Jaeger, Fidelis vice president of cybersecurity services, told the Business Journal he expects the lab’s staff to grow up to 25 percent per year over the next three years as demand grows for cyber services.

Peter George, Fidelis president , told the Business Journal that companies today want professional assistance to protect against advanced cyber threats.

 “They“™re used to dealing with the hacker down the street,“ George said.

“They“™re not used to dealing with this particular problem,” he added.
