Four school districts have selected Dell“™s Windows 8 Latitude 10 tablets as the standard information technology device for teachers and students.
Fargo Public Schools, Southern Illinois University, Spartanburg School District 3 and Westwood Independent Schools chose Dell’s products with the goal of helping IT managers oversee the deployments, Dell said Thursday.
“We chose Dell Windows 8 devices because teachers can integrate them into their existing curriculum; students can now produce information as easily as they can consume it and the Dell Latitude 10 tablets are easy for us to manage within our existing IT infrastructure,“ said Bill Westrick, IT director of Fargo Public Schools.
The Dell Latitude 10 tablet is designed to fit into current school IT environments, the company said.
“We were seeking solutions that would bring technology into the classroom, sparking students“™ desire to learn, and also expanding our district“™s educational opportunities beyond the classroom,“ said Dr. Clint McLain, assistant superintendent and a high school principal for Westwood Independent School District.
