EMC Corp.’s security arm RSA and Juniper Networks have agreed to share intelligence aimed at helping clients defend networks from advanced threats and access cloud-based corporate resources via mobile devices.
RSA will integrate its Live threat intelligence delivery service into Juniper“™s Junos Spotlight Secure global attacker intelligence service, RSA said Monday.
Juniper will add RSA Security Analytics into its SRX series services gateway firewall product, aiming to give customers visibility of the threat landscape and help stop advanced threats.
Nawaf Bitar, Juniper senior vice president and general manager of the security business unit, said the companies will provide clients situational awareness and intend to help clients prevent attacks.
Junos Spotlight Secure aims to track and block attacks by detecting digital fingerprints, while RSA Live focuses on malicious networks such as command-and-control domains.
The collaboration also expands on a previous RSA-Juniper agreement in 2012 that provides authentication and security service to users who access cloud-based corporate resources from their mobile devices.
RSA and Juniper are testing interoperability of RSA mobile authentication technologies and Junos Pulse SSL Secure to provide clients secure mobile access to cloud-based resources and authenticate access to both VPN and mobile applications.
“Two of the most common requests we get from customers are about improving information sharing and enabling them to deploy greater security on mobile devices,“ said Art Coviello, RSA executive chairman and EMC executive vice president.
