Deloitte has opened a new office in Ethiopia’s capital after signing a merger agreement with accounting and advisory firm HST.
The new office in Addis Abada marks the first partnership of the professional accountancy services firm in the country and grows Deloitte to having a presence in 34 African countries, Ventures Africa reports.
Deloitte will provide private and public sector clients financial, tax and risk advisory services out of the new office.
Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda also have Deloitte offices and the firm recorded $664 million in revenue in Africa for 2012, according to the report.
Last year, Deloitte acquired South Africa-based mining consultancy firm Venmyn Rand in a move aimed at providing clients support through all stages of mining.
That deal will create Venmyn Deloitte, according to Ventures Africa.
