Verizon employees are presenting ideas on how to help the utility industry address issues surrounding cloud computing and mobility this week at an industry forum in San Diego.
The DistribuTECH conference and exhibition started Monday and will wrap up Wednesday, the company said.
According to DistribuTECH, utility companies attend the conference to discuss automation and control systems, energy efficiency, demand response, renewable energy integration, advanced metering, system operation and reliability, power delivery equipment and water utility technology.
Company personnel will demonstrate ideas for networking, cloud and connecting machines into a secure environment for running a smart grid.
Ernie Hayden, a smart grid security thought leader at Verizon, and other employees will operate a booth at DistribuTECH to discuss security threats to utility enterprises.
