SAICGCElogoScience Applications International Corp. is being recognized as a founding sponsor of a USO of Metropolitan Washington center at Fort Meade, Md.

USO-Metro named SAIC a center sponsor for helping run the USO center and will induct the company into the center’s Founder’s Circle, SAIC said.

“SAIC recognizes the many great services USO delivers to military personnel and their families,” said Paul Gentile, senior vice president for intelligence systems at SAIC. “We’re incredibly proud to sponsor the USO Fort Meade Center in support of the expanding military presence in the Washington-Baltimore area.”

“We’re so thankful to SAIC for their extremely generous donation toward the building of this much needed USO Center at Fort Meade,” said Elaine Rogers, president and CEO of USO-Metro. “SAIC’s support was critical to the successful launch of the USO Center where we’ll provide programs and services to help lift the spirits of our troops and their families living in the Maryland region.”

SAIC said USO-Metro works withg more than 500,000 troops and their families living in the Baltimore and Washington regions.

USO Centers provide soldiers and families activities, recreation and other events.
