
Northrop Grumman‘s information systems sector has won a contract to design and develop hardware and software for a U.S. Air Force polar satellite system, the company announced Monday.
The company will lead a team for the 18-month contract that includes General Dynamics, Raytheon, Boecore Inc., Pollere Inc., Monterey Technologies Inc., Meadowgate Technologies, Perales Consulting Group and Affigent.
“We are excited to be working with the military satellite communications directorate to deliver this important national security space program for the Air Force,“ said David Ryan, vice president and general manager for Northrop“™s intelligence systems division.
Under the contract, the team will develop the Enhanced Polar System’s control and planning segment for the Air Force Space Command’s Space and Missile Systems Center.
According to the company, the CAPS system provides users tememetry, control, mission planning and crypto planning features.
Work will occur in Redondo Beach, Calif., Orlando, Fla. and Needham and Marlborough, Mass.
