HP Enterprise Services has won a prime position on a real-time location system contract worth up to $543 million to procure and deploy management systems for the Department of Veteran Affairs, according to a company statement.
“The VA meets today’s federal healthcare requirements by providing an agile, flexible and innovative platform for improved operational performance and patient care,” said Marilyn Crouther, senior vice president and general manager of HP Enterprise Services U.S. public sector.
“With HP“™s RTLS application and services, the VA is able to deliver patient-centric, high-quality healthcare to valued U.S. veterans,“ she added.
The five-year indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract calls for a set of nationally standardized RTLS solutions to improve healthcare efficiency at 152 medical centers in 21 veteran integrated service networks and seven consolidated medical outpatient pharmacy facilities.
“The quality of veteran care and improving the delivery of our healthcare services are the driving forces behind implementing the RTLS solution,” said Kimberly Brayley, director, RTLS Project Management Office, Veteran Health Administration.
This facility automation effort is expected to help identify, locate and monitor assets and supplies within and between facilities to reduce operational costs and delays in patient care, minimize lost and misplaced items and increase clinical efficiencies and staff productivity.
As a prime contractor, HP will provide a variety of RTLS technologies, including:
· program management
· operations planning
· implementation management
· hardware and software
· site readiness
Other contractors in the RTLS program include CenTrak, Intelligent InSites and WaveMark.
