Fluor Corp. has selected two employee-led community projects for recognition as part of the company’s community fund program, created to help celebrate the company’s 100th anniversary.

Fluor said it chose 10 charitable organizations that were nominated by the company’s employees, with each organization receiving $10,000 and employee volunteers for their project completion.

“As a global company working in both developed and developing countries, we strive to improve the communities in which our employees live and work through programs and organizations that make sure basic human needs are being met,” said Glenn Gilkey, senior vice president for human resources and administration.

“I am truly proud of the time and effort that all of our employees invest in these programs,” he said.

For this round of awards, the company selected a project to develop new sanitation facilities in New Delhi, India and a greenhouse project in Greenville, S.C. to receive $10,000.

Fluor employees initially nominated more than 200 different organizations and community projects.
