
CGI Group is partnering with a Finland-based insurance company to start a new technology services firm for the banking and insurance sector, which will start operating Feb. 1.
Logica Suomi Oy, part of CGI since August 2012, and Tapiola Data are forming LTC-Otso Ltd., which CGI estimates will have approximately $152.2 million in revenue over the next five years.
Nearly 240 Tapiola Data employees and 40 Logica employees will join the new company and Jukka Tarkiainen will serve as director.
“Information systems and technology are at the very core of the banking and insurance sectors,” said Heikki Nikku, senior vice president of CGI’s Finland business.
The new company will develop information systems and also provide customers consulting and application management services in the areas of property, casualty, life and pension insurance business, banking, asset management and real estate investment.
